Sen Trent Lott (R-MS) is blasting red tape that's tied down 20,000 trailers in Georgia. They'd provide emergency housing to people Hurricane Katrina left homeless.
Sen Lott wants FEMA to move them immediately to the Mississippi coast. He says the federal agency refuses to take possession of the trailers until all the contracts for them have been finalized.
Elsewhere, CNN reports a case of 100 surgeons an paramedics being barred from treating hurricane survivors. (CNN)
