Frist Inquiry Upgraded to Category 4 Political Storm
The SEC has upgraded its "informal inquiry" into Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist's (R-TN)
(right)
stock sale to a "formal investigation."
That means the SEC can issue subpoenas.
Meanwhile, federal prosecutors have joined the investigation.
Sen Frist sold all his stock in HCA Inc -- a company his family started -- just two weeks before it's price dropped.
