A Texas judge threw out the conspiracy against the former House Majority Leader. But the money laundering charge is still there.
Rep DeLay's lawyers had argued that under Texas law, "checks" were not "funds." Therefore, moving "checks" around did not add up to money laundering. (WashPost)
