The lobbying and public opinion battle over Sandra Day O'Connor's replacement on the high court could cost as much as $100 million -- if a nominee is controversial.
And it'd be hard to find out who's spending that money because most of the groups involved would be non-profits, protected from public disclosure of much of their spending. (WashPost)
