Losing Sleep over the Sleeper Cells

Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff says the US is looking for "sleeper" cells in the US after last week's London terror bombings.

"We've seen these cells."

Sleeper cells are groups of terrorists who come to their target country and spend months or even years blending in -- then striking when the time is right for them.

Sec Chertoff cited groups in Portland, Oregon and northern Virginia as examples of possible sleeper cells in the US. (LAT)
