Washington's Sitting on Money That's Supposed to Protect You

Right before the London subway bombings, the a Congressional committee cut $50 million from rail security here in the states. Expect to see that money put back in.

But Homeland Security Department records show the Department's spent less than 7% of the $10 million Congress gave it to protect rail lines. They haven't used any of the $2 million set aside to have K-9 patrols of 30 rail lines looking for explosives. (Philadelphia Inquirer)
