Changing the Rove Tune

President Bush ignored a reporters question about top adviser Karl Rove Tuesday. He left the talk to White House spokesman Scott McClellan:

"Any individual who works here at the White House has the president's confidence. They wouldn't be working here if they didn't have the president's confidence."

-- Scott McClellan, July 13, 2005

That contrasts sharply with what Mr McClellan said when talk about Karl Rove leaking a CIA agent's identity to the media first cropped up two years ago:

"The President has set high standards, the highest of standards for people in his administration. He's made it very clear to people in his administration that he expects them to adhere to the highest standards of conduct. If anyone in this administration was involved in it, they would no longer be in this administration."
