A Week Long Delay

Strategists had figured that President Bush would act within hours to get a nominee to the Supreme Court before the public. Now, the White House says he will wait until July 8 to name a replacement for Justice Sandra Day O'Connor. That gives groups on either side lots more time to jockey for position in defining what they want from a nominee. (Washingtonpost.com)
