Happy Fourth of July

The number crunchers at the Census Bureau have some numbers for your Fourth of July weekend:

• $164.2 million -- value of fireworks imported from China last year
• $5.2 million -- value of American flags imported into the US ($4.8 million from China)
• $851,000 -- value of American flags exported from the US to other countries (Mexico, at $312,000, is our biggest customer)
• 150 million -- number of hot dogs expected to be consumed on July 4 this year -- based on past Independence Days
