Bush and the Flip-Flops

He accused Sen John Kerry (D-MA) of them in the campaign, now he's in a photo surrounded by them. The Northwestern University women's lacrosse team -- national champs -- showed up for their White House photo with President Bush (as championship teams tend to do) and nine of the women in the front row were wearing flip-flops -- or at least sandals.

That's considered a fashion faux pax for older folks, but pretty normal for folks under 40 these days.

Hey, they're voters. Gotta make their Hired Hand in the White House toe the line. This ain't Jackie Kennedy's era. Flip flops have apparently shuffled into summer business fashion for women. Let's just hope this doesn't translate intoDick Cheney showing up for work in a thong. Sorry, just had to throw in that last crack. (USAToday) [Photo Credit: The White House]
