Washington's revolving door has been very good to departing Congressmen. Public Citizen's Congress Watch has been watching Congressmen go through the door since the 90s. Their new report -- Congressional Revolving Doors: The Journey from Congress to K Street -- found that since 1998, 50% of departing Senators and 42% of retiring Representatives who were eligible to become lobbyists jumped at the job.
A Washington lobbyist with Congressional credentials on his resume can charge $500 an hour.
And they still have access to places in the Capitol that other lobbyists don't have. (Minnesota Daily)
