Do As I Say -- Not As I Do

Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA) wants a $250,000 cap on medical malpractice lawsuits. He's sponsored legislation to that effect.

But back in 1999, his wife sued for $500,000 when her back surgery went wrong. The court awarded her $330,000.

Since 2001, the insurance industry -- the biggest backers of malpractice limits -- have given the Senator $230,316. That makes them the fifth largest contributors by industry to his political career. (ABC News)
