Voters in Dover, Pennsylvania, kicked out all eight Republican members of their school board in Tuesday's elections. The board had ordered a statement on "intelligent design" read in biology classes.
Intelligent design (ID) is a philosophy that the universe is so complex that there had to have been some higher power who designed the universe. ID's supporters argue it should be taught alongside the Theory of Evolution in schools.
The flap has landed the school district in court where ID's opponents say it's an attempt to replace science with religion in the classroom.
Voters replaced the eight with Democrats. They'll be sworn in December 5th. A judge plans to rule in the case before January. (WLNS-V)
