Katrina 911 Calls Misdirected
People hurt by Hurricane Katrina or stranded by the flooding that followed called 911 for help -- 3,284 calls in one day.
But the calls went to the wrong switchboard -- to one more than 70 miles away.
Investigators are trying to figure out why the calls got rerouted so far away -- making it harder to help the people in trouble.
