Stacking the Cards for War

President Bush's pick for UN Ambassador reportedly pulled strings to alter evidence leading up to the US invasion of Iraq.

A former aide to John Bolton says the UN Ambassador nominee tried to get a UN arms control leader fired -- because the man wanted to send chemical weapons inspectors to Iraq. The aide says Mr Bolton was worried the inspectors would have found nothing and that would have diffused the US reasons for wanting to go to war.

When the arms control agency head -- Jose Bustani -- refused to resign, Bolton was reportedly behind an effort that got him fired in an unusual special session of Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. (MSNBC)
