This Just In from the Tomb of Thomas Jefferson -- The Spinning Sound Seems to be Slowing Down

The First Amendment Center is out with numbers tracking what Americans think about their namesake. Seems 9/11 had Americans wanting to eliminate some of those freedoms of speech, press, religion, petition, and assembly -- all in the name of security.

USA Today reports on their numbers:

The percentage of people who say the First Amendment 'goes too far in the rights it guarantees' has fallen dramatically. In 2002, the year after the terrorist attacks, which killed nearly 3,000 people, almost 50% of those polled said the amendment goes too far. This year, just 23% felt that way.
