Yelm, Washington Mayor Adam Rivas won't let citizens speak to the city council if they bring up "Wal-Mart" or "big-box" stores. The city attorney says the city doesn't want to look biased if Wal-Mart appeals a building application before the council.
A couple of months ago, Wal-Mart opponents wanted a moratorium on big-box stores. But the council passed a moratorium on moratoriums -- no moratoriums on anything before the council. (Seattle PI)
