Sen Mel Martinez (R-FL) has become the first high profile Republican Senator to jump on the "Close the Gitmo Prison" bandwagon. Sen Martinez is a former Bush Cabinet member and serves on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
He was recently at the center of a political storm after his legal counsel, Brian Darling, authored a memo that detailed how Republicans could capitalize on the Terri Schiavo case.
