Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald has turned his attention in the Valerie Plame leak case to Vice President Dick Cheney.
The meetings involved WHIG -- the White House Iraq Group -- put together in August 2002 to talk up the threat Saddam Hussein posed. The investigation has begun to focus on this group.
The Raw Story reports two people close to the investigation have seen documents showing the Vice President was at meetings of the group where the leak is believed to have originated.
Meanwhile, Jason Leopold at Truthout says former government officials in the State Departmen, CIA, and National Security Council are saying the Vice President and National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley led a campaign to discredit Ambassador Joe Wilson starting in March, 2003.
Mr Wilson's wife was Valerie Plame, the CIA agent outed in the scandal. (The Raw Story/Truthout)
