Cussin' over the Prayer Breakfast

The Lexington Herald-Leader's religion writer got an obscene phone call -- from the Kentucky Governor's communitions guru. Seems the mouthpiece needed to have his mouth washed out with soap after the call -- most of which couldn't be quoted in a family newspaper.

The flack was upset that non-evangelicals felt excluded from the Governor's prayer breakfast -- as good an excuse as any to blurt out obscenities at a guy who's boss buys ink by the barrel.

"This is crap! This is unfair. This is ridiculous. I am so pissed. Can you tell? This is wrong. I mean, where did this come from? Is this some ACLU agenda or (something)? I don't get it. God Almighty. Do you understand? Do you understand why I'm pissed?" -- Brett Hall, Communications Director to Gov Ernie Fletcher (R-KY) in a phone call to Lexington Herald-Leader Religion Writer Frank Lockwood. Mr Lockwood called this "the PG portion of his diatribe."
Mr Lockwood compared Mr Hall's cussin' abilities to a particular prison inmate who routinely writes him threatening letters. (Herald-Leader)
