In what cynics will surely say was an effort to improve his image, Vice President Dick Cheney shot a Texas lawyer.The two were bird hunting with a group in Texas, when 78-year-old Harry Whittington walked into the Veep's line of fire and got peppered with birdshot.
The Vice President's staff kept the shooting under wraps 24 hours before issuing any statements on it.
The shooting victim is recovering in the hospital.

Dick Cheney is the first Vice-President to shoot a man since Aaron Burr popped a cap in Alexander Hamilton. However, the real duel is being waged now in the media.
Okay, it's a accident - unfortunately these happen daily. It's also unfortunate that our elected officals will make this a top priority - when will these people actually get back to running the country??
