Rove Under FIre in the White House
Some White House aides are telling the President that Karl Rove has become an albatross around his neck. They argue that the President can't move beyond the CIA leak scandal so long as Karl Rove is still on staff -- and they want him to resign for the good of the administration.
But Mr Rove has made it clear in the White House that he plans to stay on. His critics in the administration say he should at least issue a formal apology for his role in the scandal.
Mr Rove remains under investigation by the special counsel looking into the leak. The counsel issued a five-count indictment last Friday against former Vice Presidential Chief of Staff Lewis "Scooter" Libby in the case.
