And How Many Miles to Go Before He Sleeps?
How’d George W. Bush do on the promises he made in his last convention acceptance speech? NPR looks back on the four key issues he mentioned then: education, Medicare, taxes and Social Security. He gets high marks on keeping his promises on the first three. But has done virtually nothing on Social Security. The President is expected to talk about Social Security privatization again at this convention. He wants a lot of that money invested in the stock market. And surprises of surprises – Wall Street firms just happen to make up 40% of the donors to this convention. (NPR)
