If a Congressman Sees a Taxpayer's Shadow, We're in for Six More Weeks of Spending

Congress took out a clause allowing their aides to look at individuals' tax returns, but the $388 billion spending plan still has all it's pork intact. That includes the money for Pennsylvania weathercasting groundhog Punxsutawney Phil. The $100,000 grant for the Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center has been hailed by fiscal conservatives as one of the top pork projects in the spending bill. (NYT)
