The Alternative Minimu Tax (AMT) was created so everyone -- more or less -- would pay at least some taxes. But Congress never took inflation and rising wages when they created it. So the number of people paying it has more than doubled since 2000. And by 2010, it's likely to grow tenfold -- with 30 million Americans paying it. If your household makes $100,000 a year by the end of the decade, expect a big tax bite.
