Levees Not as Strong as Before Katrina

The feds are rebuilding the New Orleans floodwalls and levees to their old height -- but they won't be as strong as they were before Hurricane Katrina hit -- and knocked them down.

The Army Corps of Engineers is spending $1.6 billion to rebuild 169 miles of levees. But they're taking shortcuts to get the levees back in service before hurricane season starts June 1. (WashPost)
