The Consumer Product Safety Commission is mulling over a rule change that could save hundreds of people's lives -- in their sleep. A rule change on mattresses could save 330 lives a year. The CPSC figures 440 people die in mattress fires every year. Another 2,230 people are hurt. The rule change would require slower burning matteresses -- more resistent to matches, lighters, and candles.
