Peddling Propaganda to the American People

The Government Accountability Office has scolded the White House for producing "covert propaganda." It stems from a series of fake news reports by Mike Morris fed to local TV stations around the US right before the Super Bowl last year. Mr. Morris is not a journalist and the GAO determined that the fake news reports were illegal use of taxpayer money. The reports were for the Office of National Drug Policy and nothing in the two-minute reports indicated they came from the government. (WashPost)
