Paying for the Party

Donations and ticket requests are pouring into the committee organizing the 55th Presidential Inaugural. Nearly 1,000 people have ordered special vanity license plates for the event. Organizers have raised more than $13 million -- including $5.75 million from just a dozen individuals and 30 companies in the week between Christmas and New Year's Eve. The committee plans to spend $30 to $ 40 million on the three day party.
