Veterans Loved Him, Party Leaders Didn't. Guess Which Side Won.

That's what you get for saying Congressional Republicans and the Bush administration don't spend enough on veterans. Rep Chris Smith (R-NJ) lost his chairmanship of the Veteran's Affairs Committee. Smith was popular with veterans' groups for his outspoken style. Removing a sitting chairman is rare -- but he broke the 11th Commandment -- criticizing fellow Republicans. (Philadelphia Inquirer)
