Missing the Vote in the Nation's Capital
Three District of Columbia residents -- fresh back from fighting in the Iraq War -- urged Congress to give DC a provisional vote on the House floor. The District has a "delegate" to the House of Representatives who can vote in committee. But DC voters have no "Representative" who can vote on the House floor -- effectively leaving the capital city's residents without a vote in Congress. The three soldiers told Congress they risked their lives to bring democracy to Iraq, only to return home without a vote in their own home. (WashPost)
