He's Baaack

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is floating the idea of running for President in 2008. Mr. Gingrich engineered the "Republican Revolution" of 1994, establishing a GOP majority in the House that has continued since. He fell from grace in the midst of the Monica Lewinsky scandal, tying GOP fortunes to the scandal in the 1998 elections. The plan backfired and Mr Gingrich resigned both his Speaker post and his Congressional seat as the earliest reports of his own sex scandal emerged. The former Speaker, speaking on Fox News Sunday refused to rule out a White House bid as he spoke about the need to center US society around religious values. (AFP via Yahoo!)

There are some candidates for president who needn't waste anyone's time or money with even the idea of running, they are so unlikely to be elected.

Gingrich is one such candidate.
