Counting the Wounded

The Pentagon held up releasing casualty numbers until Tuesday. When they announced them, the total number of wounded in Iraq topped 10,000. Of the 10,252 wounded, 5,396 were unable to return to duty because of the severity of their wounds. The Pentagon usually announces the fugures weekly but hadn't released any numbers since December 21.
