The leader of the Military Order of the Purple Heart is upset over GOP delegates using band-aids with a Purple Heart on them to make a political point at the Republican National Convention. The bandages mock John Kerry’s war wounds as superficial. But Robert Lichtenberger, the Order’s national commander, says it’s an insult to every soldier ever wounded in battle for the US.

This is an insult to every member of the military and to the families of those who gave their lives with slightly less superficial wounds. The GOP should be ashamed.
