Its great that someone is finally exposing the governments process of deception. Hopefully this pod cast encourages listeners to take the first step to end this problem.

This was a very interesting as well as an amusing podcast. This is an excellent example of how words have an effect on the community.

I think it's unfair how they are minimizing the situation. How can changing the word "hunger" into very low security change the situation? It tricks the people that everything is okay, but in reality it is not. Rather than changing the word, they should find a better way to help people living with hunger.

I find it insulting that the USDA would do such a thing. Everyone has been hungry sometime in their life but to be hungry and not be able to get any food for even days at a time is horrible. "Very low food security" truly dishonors their plight.

Funny. How do I feel about the issue addressed in this podcast? One word describes it. Funny. The only reason I am finding this situation and taking it in a joking manner is because the USDA is only following in a pattern that has been going on for a period of time. This is not the first time that America as a country (or on a even larger scale, people around the world)has allowed the government to use trickery of words to bamboozle the minds of society. I personally don't take offense to this, but it is starting to take a toll on society. Maybe if we start to understand what is going on, we can stop becoming vulnerable to deceivery of words used by the government. But until then.Laughter.Funny.Jokes.Hilarious.Comedy.Thats what it is to me.

I think that the USDA changing the word "hunger" to "very low food security" is wrong because they are just trying to get people to stop worrying and forget about the hunger problem here in the U.S.

I think that changing the word "hunger" to "very low food security" can be calming to people who don't really know what that mean -even if it's that same as saying someone is hungry. But it is also another way to remind people of the hunger in different parts of the world and make them feel better about the situation by using less specific words.

Since I heard about your podcast it's really opened my eyes about eliminatng hungar and how people try so hard to hind the truth. The Department of Agriculture tryed to change their statement about food and it's low security so it would not sound as bad. However, you can't hide the truth.

The process of deception is powerful. Especially for the government. They are trying to convince the world that we are not hungry we just have a "very low food security". Other countries are probably saying look at what the United States are trying to hide.

I think that the USDA shouldn't use a diffrent word for hunger. The reason they changed the word might be because it sounds bad,and it is showing that they are not doing alot to provent it from happening.
If we are facing an issue then they should be straight forward with what they have to say, instead of trying to make it sound like nothing bad is happening.

Great bringing this to the attention of the public. The Department of Agriculture must underestimate the intelligence of the American public if they think a simple name change will make us belive the issue of hunger is no longer there. Instead of wasting time and money to fing a new name for hunger they should be putting that money into way to actually solve the issue.

I think it's really terrible how the Department Of Agriculture, tried to " candy coat" the United States's hunger situation. You would think that this department would at least tell the truth, or give accurate information so that help could be given. Situations like this, are the main reasons why a lot of people don't trust the United States government.
