Sprawl Sneaks Up on the Military

America's military is surrounded -- by the suburbs. Developers are building condos up to commando training grounds, bungalows near bombing ranges. This year's defense budget includes $12.5 million to encourage buffer zones around military bases. It's getting so you can't drop a load of Joint Direct Attack Munitions GBU 31/32 without upsetting some soccer mom. (USA Today)
