The US House voted down on a bill to reinstate the draft -- just so they can tell e-mail rumor mongers, "I told you so." Rumors have been flying fast and loose over the Internet that the draft will be reinstated after the election. The Kerry/Edwards campaign has played up those rumors in campaign appearances. Truth is, there was a bill to restart the draft on Capitol Hill. Killing the bill appears to be the best way to lay the rumors to rest. (USAToday)
