The Red State/Blue State divide could be making politicians further removed from the issues that affect us all. Presidential campaign ads aren't just being targeted to air in battleground states, they're targeting issues important locally in those states. So, while most of us are concerned about health care, the sluggish job market, and the Wars on Terror and in Iraq, the candidates are talking about coal mining issues in West Virginia and off shore drilling in Florida.
