Four Democratic Senators have asked Solicitor General Paul Clement to name a special prosecutor to investigate whether Attorney General Alberto Gonzales perjured himself before Congress.Senators Charles Schumer (D-NY), Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), Russ Feingold (D-WI) and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) are members of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
They're questioning whether Mr Gonzales misled the Committee on the warrantless wiretapping program -- since what he testified about has conflicted with testimony from other people who've since appeared before the committee. (National Journal/AP)
